About Me

Hi there! I’m Emmalyne! I’m an accountant (CPA) at my local university and married to a CrossFit obsessed millwright. My passion is cooking and baking! I love trying new recipes, actually, I live for it! I get so much excitement from the anticipation of discovering a recipe that is going to be so delicious! I also love watching people give a sigh of enjoyment when they have tasted something truly amazing. I was thrown into cooking when my parents separated at the beginning of high school. What was born out of necessity has now grown into a love and passion.

I decided to start blogging because I love to cook and wanted a creative outlet to share the recipes and pics of the recipes I try. Hopefully it will inspire other people to try it themselves. Right now my favorite website to get recipes from is Taste of Home and the cookbooks I am working my way through are Half Baked Harvest and Yum & Yummer (you can find them here: http://yumyummer.com/ https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/) I decided my blog would be more like a review of the recipes I try including tips for improvement if I see any. Each post will be rated on level of difficulty based on the following criteria:

  • The number of steps
  • How involved the cooking preparation is/how much time it took to prepare it
  • The number of ingredients and how easy they are to obtain

I will also include the following with each recipe review:

  • Time it took to make including baking/cooking time
  • Equipment and ingredients required
  • (Sometimes) a Wine Pairing because I love pairing wine with food πŸ™‚
  • Total calories/serving (I was raised to use calories as a measurement of health when eating food. I believe life is all about balance. Sure salads are good for you but I don’t want to take the enjoyment out of eating and like to save room for that bowl of ice cream πŸ˜‰ )

Thank you for joining me on this new journey! I hope you enjoy reading the recipes and reviews. Happy eating πŸ™‚
